During a month a person can often hear music coming from Sozo Institute of the Arts. Sozo allows for many different bands and organizations to use their facilities.
Sozo is a place for people to come together and listen to music in an intimate setting. Sozo’s website tells of their message of how they are for “the creation and expression of a variety of art media which build up people, not tear down, which gives hope, gives solutions, and inspires action.” Numerous events take place at Sozo. The events can range from concerts, humanitarian aid events, political events and global issues.
Sozo provides for an intimate setting especially when concerts are held. People who have attended band shows at Sozo have experienced the intimacy of the concert experience. Kenny Stark, a sophomore at Lock Haven University, said,” It’s ridiculous how close you can get to some big-name bands. Sozo was one of the best concert venues I’ve been to.”
Sozo has a lot of local, small town bands play as well as the big headliners. Kyle Karmelita, bassist of Lights, Camera, Distractions and Lock Haven University sophomore said he enjoyed playing shows at Sozo because it was a good place to do networking with bands you might not have necessarily had a chance to meet.
The venue offers a place for people to listen to bands or different organized events in a relaxed setting. Sozo gives you an opportunity to meet and talk with bands, humanitarians, activists and so on.
